I can’t even watch the Obama campaign videos much anymore …the broken promises of NCLB and RTTT

I can’t even watch the Obama campaign videos much anymore.

.

I can tell you the difference between NCLB and RTTT

from a teachers point of view.

NCLB forced one unfunded bubble test by which a school was graded .

Yes, that was bad, but…

.

RTTT forces four quarterly bubble tests,

grades the teachers and the schools, and removes credit from a student…

still unfunded…

.

And, RTTT forces states to open the door to corporate charter schools…

while pinning all the blame on teachers.

.

That is not the change we believed in.

That is just the status quo on turbo charge.

.

I don’t think I’ll fall for these eloquent speeches twice.

  1. sssooooooo disappointed. Obama had such promise but he is blind and DUMB about education. DUMB, yes, neither hearing nor acknowledging poverty, loss of work identity, torn families, no hope….but he wants a race to the top. How do you race over your sister and brother citizens who get nothing. And the top of WHAT…meaningless mindless drivel-numbers on a page. Obama read Kozol…puh-leeze!
